CHANEL GABRIELLE ADVENTURE IN ATHENS

And then came Gabrielle.

For over a month now that I have been planning to write this post. Yes, it's been that long! Basically from the moment I got invited on an exclusive blogger trip to Greece – for the launching of the most buzzed-about perfume of the year – Gabrielle Chanel.

In Athens, where I had the pleasure of getting to know “Gabrielle” , the event and installation was hosted by Grecotel Cape Sounio, a five star hotel in a stunning location opposite the Temple of Poseidon, one of the most celebrated archaeological sites in Europe and the second most important ancient temple in Attica.

After a short flight, and a warm welcoming by Chanel drivers who took us to the beautiful resort we checked in. Classic but with a fresh approach to hospitality, luxurious with a view to the austere and emblematic temple of Poseidon, Cape Sounio simply had it all. It was the ideal place, a true dream…

In the rooms we had Chanel goodies waiting for us. After settling in our rooms, we met at the beach deck with bloggers from other countries, and were devided into small groups from an amazing boat trip in the Argosaronikos sea.

After the boat trip we were taken to the lower level of the hotel, to experience a truly unique launch. Chanel built a space especially for the launch: Total white interior; Chanel’s quotes written on the walls all around us, a lounge for our first encounter with the aromatic composition, under the guidance of an expert; screens all around showing videos with enchanting images; and finally the necessary instagram experience, a white Gabrielle booth for wonderful souvenir photos.

The result is a unique perfume, minimalistic but powerful. It is very Chanel. For those of you who love the brand's perfumes like me and can spot them away from a mile away, this too is distictly Chanel. Jasmin, Orange blossom, Ylang Ylang and Tuberose from Grasse blend together to create an outstanding scent.

The new bottle and packaging, which took five years to be made, are designed by Sylvie Legastelois, head of packaging and graphic design creation. She wanted it to be jewel-like yet simple and in line with the classic bottles of the house. The square bottle is colored in a soft golden shade that transmits the light, as a symbol of the sunny character of the fragrance. What an elegant finish.

After the launch we had some time to rest and get ready for the evening cocktail and dinner that was held on the deck at the beach.

Our second day started with breakfast in the hotel, overlooking the sea and enjoying the breeze. We were then taken to the Temple of Poseidon, god of the sea. An amazing place you wouldn't want to miss.

Finally, I would like to thank Chanel Paris for this unique launch invitation.
